    What is it?

    The idea is simple. Want to do radio? So do not wait much longer. Open an WEB radio account in the Dissonant Project and exercise the right to communicate, to speak, to express yourself. Individuals, groups, communities and social organizations can use the internet as a space of free expression. There is no need to be technical. We are not. Open an account at the site and begin transmitting.

    Make good use. Be free.

    Dissonant Staff.

    Concept

    In music, dissonance happens when the quality of the sounds seem unstable. It is not necessarily something unpleasant or annoying, since all music composed in a tonal basis incorporates a degree of dissonance. A dissonance is actually a tool that improves, supports and develops creativity. It is a noise that values harmony. The note that gives a color to the chords. Some music styles consider dissonance vile and make all efforts to eliminate it. Others, find it an attractive part of the timbre and thus seek to create tools to intensify its light roughness. To be dissonant is to be out of bar and still build a melody.

    Origin

    The first inspiration came from the radiolivre.org (a web site of web radio). In 2006, the “Ralacoco’s” program Underground Ways was heard on the web by more than 80 listeners, and had an approximate average of 5 to 10 people per day. Afterwards, the radiolivre.org server needed to be improved. Later the same year, another member of dissonant traveled to the Meeting of Free Radio in Recife. The idea was to discuss how technology could be a strategy for social transformation for Communication. As a result, came the proposal of joining efforts, spreading more servers of web Radio in (throughout) universities. These two ideas/projects were joined to the activities of Ralacoco (a free radio of University of Brasilia). It began, then, playing a somewhat more dissonant note to the point of becoming a project, a speech, a way of making libertarian communication.

    Use Policy

    a) Always respect the freedom of opinion, belief, faith and political, ethnic and religious diversity;

    b) Promote the cultural and regional diversity, without curtailing any kind of expression;

    c) Never disseminate offensive content, for example homophobic, sexist, racist or discriminatory character of any species.

    II – to take social responsibility

    a) Be responsible for your acts, in accordance with the item I

    b) Have in mind that you are responsible for what you say.

    III – by the Dissonant Project

    a) The Project is not responsible for the breach of the items above, and encourages collective action among individuals and groups to filter and exclude possible disregard to this mutual agreement. In case of problems, send an email to projetodissonante@gmail.com.

    b) the servers of the Dissonant Project should be used for the promotion of free communication. Soon, the radios participants should not use the web to radio for commercial purposes and / or profit. If this should happen, the point of assembly created will be disabled, and possibly expired.

    Bill & Ted

    The Dissonant Project has two faithful squires as servers: Bill S. Preston and Theodore Logan. The Bill and Ted. The Bill, installed in the studio of Ralacoco serves to open several points of assembly and supply the Radiolivre server of Campinas is out of air (down). The Ted, installed in the Multiuso II building, can be used (serves as) for transmission of workshops, tests, and, in the future, experimental transmissions of video (which can be performed using an webcam).

    Thanks

    We appreciate everyone who helped us. Collectively, we made it. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be here. And when we won´t be here, the Dissonant Project is free to continue with strong and autonomous with new dissonant groups and persons. Poneyley.
